Eh. I have four of them in service for almost two years with rock solid performance other than this one issue (with a unit that is sitting on my back porch, which I'm sure is not the ideal environment for it). More reliable and faster than the TP-Link ones I had before. I'm not convinced that you would be doing yourself any favors by abandoning them, but I can only speak to my personal experience and relatively small sample size.

To clarify, this is with a WF-803M. I didn't realize there were multiple models now.
