In Everything for MoCA
My MoCA network is significantly slower as compared to running on v1.0.6 firmware. At least, I think it is was the firmware upgrade that slowed everything down. Previously, when running v1.0.6, file transfer rates to/from my NAS were capped out at gigabit speed (~ 110 MB/s). My entire ethernet network (routers/switches) are gigabit. Now, transfer rates to/from any device (NAS, other PCs, etc.) over the MoCA network are capping out at ~ 40 MB/s. Direct ethernet connection (bypassing my MoCA network) also delivers gigabit speed, as expected. My slowest MoCA link rate between my 3 goCoax devices is 3366 Mbits/sec, which is the rate its always shown and is healthy for MoCA 2.5 nodes. However, the rates above reflect my real-world transfer speeds to/from my NAS perfectly. Now, I can't be 100% sure that v1.0.12 is the cause of the performance drop, because I did not perform the iperf tests on v1.0.6 before upgrading, and I only noticed my network speeds were slow a few weeks after upgrading. I also had an issue with my NAS (dead motherboard) that caused it to be offline for about a week during the same timeframe. That all said, I can't think of any other cause. I know for a fact that when I first set up the MoCA network (with the v1.0.6 firmware that shipped on the goCoax units) that I was getting ~ 110 MB/s for months, because I've transferred several terabytes of data and I've always seen capped gigabit rates previously. I'm seeking advice on how to investigate this further and remedy the speed issue. Nothing else has changed physically. I am using high quality and short coax cables (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DI88YR2), high quality and short CAT7 ethernet cables (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08541KP7K), and a high quality MoCA compliant splitter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01552LYL6). Finally, the goCoax units show backup firmware of the original v1.0.6 image. Is it possible to revert to the backup image? I couldn't find instructions on how to do this, and I am not sure a factory reset accomplishes this.
