So I have had two WF-803M adapters in my home which have worked perfectly fine for almost a year. I came home yesterday and my wired devices were not getting any internet but my wireless laptop was. Naturally I reset my cable modem and router and that did not help. After some troubleshooting I found that the wired ports on my desktop and media server came back online when I unplugged one of the WF-803M devices from the network. I checked my router and the last firmware update was in April so nothing has changed there and I have not added any new wired devices to the network recently. I reset both of the MoCA adapters to factory and then updated the firmware from 1.0.6 to 1.0.13. Put the adapters on DHCP and plugged them back into the router and the mini-switch I have at the other end and within a few seconds my wired network devices went down. I eliminated the network switch from the mix and plugged directly into the MoCA adapter and the same thing. As soon as a network connection is made on both ends the entire wired network goes down.
Any ideas?
cam you test by directly connecting two devices directly to the WF-803M ethernet connections and see if that works? I tested various iperfs between a pair of machines via the MoCA network and saw no issues.
I had an issue which I thought was the MoCA devices but in the end I found my router had a bad port or something which only triggered when the MoCa network was connected, I even tried interposing switches between the router and the 803s to try look for bad ethernet frames, but nothing was triggering the switch ports to show any errors.
In the end I replaced the router and my problems dissappeared.
