Hi,
I've COAX running to my roof top which I'd like to use to connect an Unifi access point. I'm looking to use goCoax adapters to make the connection.
The plan is to install the adapter in a cable box like the below, together with a POE injector. The only option is to mount the box in an area that gets a lot of direct sunlight in Los Angeles.
My main question is if I should be concerned about the heat in the box and maximum/minimum operating temperature? Will this work or would you have other suggestions?
Thanks!
In hot climates like Los Angeles, direct sunlight can cause temperature buildup inside your enclosure. The NEMA 4X box is weatherproof and UV stable, but you should ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating. Check the temperature ratings for the goCoax adapters and POE injector to ensure they can handle the heat. If possible, place the box in a shaded area or use a cooling fan for extra protection.
