Diablo 4 Season 7: Witchcraft Powers and Quality of Life Updates in Patch 2.1 PTR
The Diablo 4 community is gearing up for the next big update with the release of Season 7 and patch 2.1 PTR. On November 12, the developers held a Campfire Chat to discuss the upcoming updates, revealing key content for Diablo IV Items the mid-term patch of Season 6, as well as providing a sneak peek into the features and content slated for Season 7. While Season 6 is still in progress, excitement is already building for what’s to come in the next season, with new seasonal powers, changes to the Paragon Board, and other quality of life updates that will enhance the overall gameplay experience.
Among the most significant additions in Season 7 are the Powers of Witchcraft and the various quality of life improvements, including changes to Ancestral Legendary items, the Paragon Board, and item crafting systems. In this article, we’ll break down what players can expect from these new features and how they will shape the future of Diablo 4.
The Powers of Witchcraft in Season 7
One of the most exciting features for Season 7 is the introduction of Witchcraft powers, a new type of seasonal power similar to Vampiric powers in Season 2. This new system will provide players with unique abilities and powers, significantly altering how they approach gameplay and combat. If you enjoyed Season 2’s addition of Sanguine Circle, you can expect a similar mechanic for Witchcraft in Season 7, but with its own twists and intricacies.
How to Obtain Witchcraft Powers
To obtain Witchcraft powers, players will need to collect a new in-game currency called Restless Rot. This currency can be earned by defeating the Headrotten, a new enemy introduced in Season 7. Once you have enough Restless Rot, you can visit the Altar of Witchcraft to exchange it for Witchcraft powers.
The Witchcraft powers themselves are designed to enhance your combat abilities and provide a significant boost to your gameplay, offering both offensive and defensive benefits. These powers will be available in a similar way to Sanguine Circle, where you’ll find a new tab in your character menu to equip and manage your Witchcraft abilities.
Building the Witchcraft Reputation Board
In addition to obtaining Witchcraft powers, players will also have the opportunity to build a Witchcraft Season Reputation Board. This system will allow you to earn Coven’s Favor by completing certain challenges and quests throughout the season. Coven’s Favor will drop from Whispers, a system already familiar to Diablo 4 players, which will then allow you to progress through the Witchcraft Reputation Board.
As you progress, you’ll also earn Resplendent Sparks, which can be used to craft Mythic Uniques, the highest-tier items in the game. This will encourage players to engage with the seasonal content and work towards unlocking the powerful items that will help them progress further in the game.
Headrotten and Headhunts
A major new feature that will complement the Witchcraft powers is the Headrotten bosses. These bosses are part of a new type of event called Headhunts, which will spawn in a similar manner to Helltides. These events will feature new Whispers activities, allowing players to take on difficult challenges and increase the chances of encountering a Headrotten boss. Once defeated, players can send the heads of these bosses to the Tree of Whispers, earning Occult Gems as rewards.
Occult Gems: Unique Combat Enhancements
Occult Gems are a new item type in Season 7 that will offer powerful combat bonuses. These gems can be socketed into item slots, enhancing your abilities and providing unique effects that can change how you approach combat. The addition of Occult Gems will allow for more customization and strategy, enabling players to tailor their builds to fit their preferred playstyle.
Moreover, players will be able to explore Forgotten Altars found within various Sanctuary dungeons to unlock additional powers. Over 20 new powers will be added, ensuring that the Witchcraft powers system is robust and offers plenty of variety for different character builds.
Quality of Life Updates in Patch 2.1 PTR
In addition to the Witchcraft powers, Patch 2.1 PTR introduces several quality of life updates aimed at improving the overall experience for both new and veteran players. These updates focus on streamlining progression, improving itemization, and enhancing the Paragon system. Let’s take a closer look at some of the most anticipated changes.
Changes to the Paragon Board
One of the most exciting quality of life updates in Season 7 is the revamp of the Paragon Board. The Paragon Board allows players to further customize their characters by investing in Paragon points to unlock powerful bonuses once they reach the level cap. Starting in Season 7, players will have more flexibility in customizing their builds, allowing them to better suit their playstyle.
In addition, a significant change to the Paragon experience system will be implemented. In previous seasons, Paragon experience was tied to the current season, meaning it wouldn’t carry over once the season ended. However, Season 7 will introduce a Paragon experience migration mechanism, allowing players to carry over any Paragon experience they earned during the season to their Eternal Realm progress. This will allow players to unlock Eternal Realm rewards without needing to grind through seasonal content every time.
Ancestral Legendary Items: Higher Drop Rates and Guaranteed Legendary Aspects
Ancestral Legendary items have long been a staple of Diablo 4, offering some of the best stats and effects available in the game. With Season 7, the drop rate of Ancestral Legendary items will be significantly increased across all levels, especially in the Torment difficulty system. This will make Ancestral Legendary items more accessible to players, improving the overall itemization system and making it easier to obtain high-tier loot.
In addition, Ancestral Legendary items will now always drop with their Legendary Aspect at the highest possible level. This ensures that Ancestral Legendary items are even more valuable, as players will be able to use them to build powerful character builds without needing to rely on RNG to obtain the perfect aspects.
Additional Quality of Life Improvements
Alongside the Paragon Board and Ancestral Legendary item changes, Season 7 will also introduce several other quality of life improvements, including:
Redesigned Unique Power Rolls: A new system for Unique items will allow players to roll for more favorable stats, making these items more useful and rewarding.
Gem Fragment Converter: This new tool will enable players to convert Gem Fragments into Legendary items, adding another layer of crafting and customization.
Class Task Updates: The developers will also be making adjustments to class-specific tasks, helping players better navigate and enjoy the challenges associated with each character class.
Season 7: Looking Ahead
With the Witchcraft powers and quality of life improvements in Patch 2.1 PTR, Season 7 is shaping up to be a highly anticipated release for Diablo 4 players. The addition of Restless Rot, Occult Gems, Paragon Board changes, and Ancestral Legendary item drops will provide fresh content and meaningful improvements for both new and veteran players.

Path of Exile 2: A Comprehensive Guide to Support Gems and Currency Optimization
As the excitement surrounding Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) builds towards its official release, players are already deep in the process of theory-crafting their ideal builds. With new mechanics and a revamped passive skill tree, there's an incredible amount of customization in how characters can be developed. One of the most dynamic and POE2 Currency influential systems in shaping your build’s potential is the support gem system. These deceptively simple gems, which augment your skills, can dramatically elevate your effectiveness in combat and help you fine-tune your character’s strengths.
In this guide, we’ll dive into the world of support gems in Path of Exile 2, exploring how they function, how to optimize them with PoE 2 currency, and how they can be used to enhance your builds. Whether you're a newcomer or an experienced player, understanding the role of support gems is essential for crafting the ultimate character.
What Are Support Gems in Path of Exile 2?
Support gems are an iconic feature of the Path of Exile series and serve as an integral part of PoE 2’s build optimization system. These gems are collectible items that you can equip in the sockets of your gear to enhance your active skills with powerful additional effects. Rather than modifying your basic attacks or spells directly, they augment or support your abilities, granting bonus damage, elemental effects, additional projectiles, or even entirely new effects like bleed or freezing capabilities.
Each support gem corresponds to a specific type of modification, and depending on your playstyle and build, the right support gem can amplify your combat abilities in crucial ways. For instance, a gem like Added Fire Damage can increase the fire damage dealt by your skills, while a Piercing Shot gem can make your arrows pierce through multiple enemies, dealing damage across a wider area.
Support gems are versatile, offering a unique level of customization for your character. They allow you to tailor your abilities to meet specific combat scenarios, whether you're facing a single boss or hordes of enemies in a dungeon.
How Do Support Gems Work?
In PoE 2, support gems function by linking to your active skill gems within your equipment. When placed into a socket, support gems modify the properties of the skill gem they’re linked to, based on the type of effect they provide.
Basic Mechanism of Support Gems:
Socketing: A support gem must be inserted into a piece of gear that has a matching socket. Sockets are color-coded based on the skill gem type: red for strength skills, green for dexterity skills, and blue for intelligence skills. Only matching-colored gems can be inserted into a socket, but some items come with multi-colored sockets, allowing for greater flexibility.
Linking: Support gems work by linking to a skill gem within the same socket chain. When you place a support gem in a linked socket, it will modify the properties of the skill gem, enhancing it with specific effects such as added damage, elemental properties, or other benefits. For example, you can link a Multiple Projectiles support gem to a skill like Fireball, causing the fireballs to be fired in multiple directions, increasing your damage potential and area of effect.
Restrictions: It’s important to note that while support gems can significantly boost your abilities, each skill can only be linked to one instance of a particular type of support gem. For example, you cannot stack multiple Multiple Projectiles gems to further increase the number of projectiles for a single skill. However, you can link different types of support gems (such as Multiple Projectiles and Elemental Penetration) to achieve a synergistic effect.
Socket Color and Requirements: Some support gems may require higher-level equipment or more complex socket configurations, so you’ll need to focus on obtaining the right gear to maximize your gem combinations.
Types of Support Gems in Path of Exile 2
Support gems in PoE 2 come in three distinct tiers, each with its own set of effects and upgrades. These tiers unlock progressively as you level up and gain access to better gear and abilities. The gems in each tier offer increasingly potent and complex augmentations for your skills.
Tier I Support Gems
The Tier I support gems are the foundational support gems that can be used at early levels. These gems typically provide straightforward enhancements, such as adding elemental damage or increasing projectile speed.

Fork: Causes projectiles to split and hit multiple targets, enhancing your AoE potential.
Frostfire: Combines fire and cold damage into a hybrid effect, allowing you to deal both types of elemental damage at once.
Overcharge: Increases the power of your spells or attacks but at the cost of mana consumption.
Rageforged: Increases your damage as your rage builds, turning rage into a potent power source for physical builds.
Optimizing Support Gems with PoE 2 Currency
While acquiring support gems is essential, maximizing their potential often requires PoE 2 currency. PoE 2’s currency system functions as a barter economy, where each type of currency serves a specific purpose. Understanding how to use currency to enhance your support gems and gear is crucial for building a successful character.
Orb of Fusing: This currency item is used to link sockets on your gear. With the right combination of Orbs, you can create perfect gear setups for your support gems.
Chaos Orbs: These can be used to re-roll the properties of items and gems, ensuring that your support gems get the perfect modifications for your build.
Divine Orbs: These are used to enhance the quality of your gems, improving their effectiveness.
Trade and Farm: The player-driven economy in PoE 2 makes currency management key. Trade with other players to acquire rare or specific support gems, and farm the right zones to maximize your currency.
Conclusion
Support gems in Path of Exile 2 are one of the most important aspects of character customization. They provide players with the ability to enhance their skills in unique and game-changing ways, turning an ordinary attack into an overwhelming force. Coupled with the robust PoE 2 currency system, support gems offer virtually limitless potential for building powerful and specialized characters.

Elden Ring Helmets vs. Berserk Helmets
I'm going to combine two things in this article as I'm not able to justify making separate entries for both Elden Ring Runes. Before the Eclipse accepts him into the God Hand the man once known as Griffith endures an entire an unending year of torture having a romantic relationship with the princess of an important kingdom. His tongue is severed and his skin is swollen, and all the while he's forced to wear a mask made of iron. After being saved by Guts and the fellow members from the Band of the Hawk, Griffith gradually recovers, but the mask is left to hide the scars left by his brutal encounter.
Elden Ring players have drawn parallels between Griffith's iron mask and the one of the Prisoner class players can choose from the start in the course. This isn't a 1:1 comparison though, however the eye-cover on the Prisoner's headwear neatly coincides with the fact that Berserk rarely shows a front-facing Griffith in his mask. He prefers to depict the tortured mercenary with only one eye hidden by the mask's shadow.
Furthermore, the Winged Helm worn by Elden Ring boss Malenia and eventually obtainable by players can easily be seen as an homage to a similar piece of armor Berserk antagonist-turned-ally Farnese wears during her time commanding the Holy Iron Chain Knights. Yes, this can be dismissed as both being inspired by the medieval portrayals of Valkyries but I prefer to think of them as closely connected as this is more entertaining.
Elden Ring's Greatsword vs. Berserk's Dragon Slayer
Finally, my most favorite Berserk reference in Elden Ring apart from the sword fields. Elden Ring, like previous Souls games, hides the world's building in item descriptions. It's usually the best way to understand why someone did something important or who's connected to whom It stands to be logical that homages to Berserk might be hiding away in the text for the flavor as well.
It's a lot like the comments made about Guts' Dragon Slayer in Berserk which, in the very first section of the comic is described as the "raw pile of iron" which is "much too large to be considered an actual sword." The characters are frequently blown away that Guts can hold such a weapon due its enormous size, but due to elden ring items buy online and his incredible ability, he's been able to utilize it to slash through anything that stands in his way. The two weapons are like each other, but that could be due to the fact that they're both massive swords.
i found out what the problem was i had to add a new coax cable and new splitter and it fixed the issues
